You can get the engine in various ways:
- Download a pre-compiled SDK for your platform.
- Download a pre-packaged source archive.
- Go hardcore and get the source directly from the repository.
If you are starting out, you probably want to get the SDK. It installs the compiled libraries and the editor binaries automatically into your system.
With the source package you will have to compile the engine yourself, which can be difficult if you never did it before, and don’t have the required tools and libraries installed.
Pre-compiled SDK
The SDK comes with an installer that will automatically extract all the utilities and libraries into your chosen directory. It also provides the full documentation of the engine.
